Saturday 12th May 2018
It’s soon to be festival season. That time when the wellies come out and the sun goes in… Well, hopefully that won’t be the case over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend as I’m proud to announce I will be performing at Bearded Theory’s Spring Gathering on the Creative Intentions Presents Furthest From The Sea Acoustic Area! Set times are yet to be confirmed and I will update once I know, but if you are going to Bearded Theory, it would be awesome to see you there! On a side note, the festival has sold out for this year!
Monday 26th March 2018
It’s been a long time coming, but we have some progress on the EP. Originally penned for last year, it has taken a little longer than expected, but the tracks are sounding immense! I can’t wait to let them loose on the world. We should have some different options available when it comes to buying them too. Watch this space!
Also, we have a selection of gigs lined up for the next couple of months, including supporting the awesome Phil Cooper on his album launch tour! Check out the live dates page for more info!
We may have some more exciting news in the pipeline too!
Peace & love
A Long Way Back To The Light…
Thursday 28th December 2017
Morning All! It’s been a few weeks since I posted, so I thought I’d give an update. I now feel fully recovered from my tonsillectomy and that can only mean one thing – getting gigs back into the calendar, starting tonight! If you head across to the Live Shows page, you’ll see I’m playing at the Penny Black in Tamworth tonight. I’m looking forward to a hometown gig to see if my throat will hold up for a few songs!
Thanks for popping along!
A Long Road Out To Recovery…
Sunday 5th November 2017
I’ve been wondering at what point I should post this update. If you have been checking, you will notice I only have the one gig lined up between now and the end of 2017. 2017 has been a quiet year due to changes in personal circumstances – it’s amazing how much time a baby takes up! And to add to this, I’m due to go and have my tonsils removed on Friday. I’m not sure how long the recovery process will be, and I aim to keep my last gig date, but that only gives me 3 weeks to be fully recovered! Wish me luck, and I’ll see you soon.
The Narrowboat Sessions
Wednesday 13th September 2017
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to meet up with the lovely folks from The Narrowboat Sessions and record 3 songs for them. Last night the first song was released on Facebook, and here is the video:
Please head over to The Narrowboat Sessions Facebook page and see the wonderful work they do supporting local music!
Y Not Festival 2017 – Updated
Monday 7th August 2017
So, some of you may have seen that Y Not was cancelled due to the excessive mud. I am completely gutted about this as I was really looking forward to playing on the Sunday lunchtime (the organisers cancelled the festival overnight on Saturday). Hopefully I will return next year…
Friday 21st July 2017
Two years ago I was lucky enough to grab an open mic slot on the Creative Intentions with Furthest From The Sea Acoustic tea tent stage. This year I am back on the same stage, but not with an open mic slot, with a full slot! You can find me live on Sunday 30th July at 12noon.
Wednesday 21st April 2017
News news news news.
Festival season is upon us and I’m excited to announce that I will be appearing at Godiva Festival 2017, on the Acoustic Stage on Saturday 8th July at 5pm! I look forward to seeing you down the front!
Happy Hump Day
Wednesday 31st May 2017
It’s the middle of the week. Luckily it’s only a short week, thanks to the Bank Holiday. Although sadly it was the last Bank Holiday until the end of August. Anywhoo, we’ve added some more gig dates to the calendar over the next couple of weeks: mostly hometown dates but we are also working some gigs a bit further afield too! Maybe even a European date! Who knows.
Anyway, back to the daily grind!
Gigs Gigs Gigs
Monday 24th April 2017
This year is flying by, and we’ve not had much in the calendar so far. Sadly, one of our promoters, Ian Bourne, has fallen ill recently, so our gigs at Coventry Cross have been cancelled. We hope that Ian gets well soon and look forward to playing at one of his events in future.
We do have some alternate irons in the fire though, and we’ll keep you up to date via Facebook when we know bits and bobs!
Tuesday 31st January 2017
Wow, has it really been over a month since our last update? It appears it has! So 2017 is here, and Dryanuary is almost up. That means my dry month of gigs is over and hopefully Jon and I can get out and play some more shows!
The first of those is going to be at the Actress & Bishop in Ludgate Street, Birmingham next Wednesday (8th February).
Hopefully then the calendar will start to fill up with dates!
Check back soon!
Tuesday 20th December 2016
So it’s been a quiet end to the year. Thank you all for your support over the past months and to everyone who bought Tea With The Queen. We are still working on getting the EP released in 2017 and a bunch of gigs in the diary!
Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year!
See you in 2017!
Birmingham Beer Festival

Thanks to everyone who came along to Acoustheque in Stratford last night. It’s always great to play new venues, and the Picturehouse is a great venue.
Next gig is on Thursday 27th October, as part of Action For Children’s live music at Birmingham Beer Festival. Music runs from 5pm until late, and I’ll be on stage at 5.30pm.
Best start practising the drinking songs!
Wednesday 19th October 2016
Next gig takes place in Stratford-Upon-Avon at Acoustheque. Also on the bill is Domesticated Records label mate Izzie!
BBC Introducing Coventry & Warwickshire”

So proud to announce that Tea With The Queen was played on BBC Introducing Coventry & Warwickshire in Brody Swain’s Godiva Festival preview show on 25th June. And for the pleasure of this, we get this lovely badge:
Isn’t it great?
Monday July 4th 2016
Thanks to everyone who came out to see us play live at Godiva Festival (be it the Friday night impromptu set, the Saturday full set or the track we played live on the BBC Stage) and at Action For Children’s Great Birmingham Busk in Grand Central. 4 gigs in 2 days. What a weekend!
Here is the video of Tripping Over Rainbows, which we played live on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire at Godiva Festival on the Saturday afternoon
Tea With The Queen – Out Now!
As a special treat, here is Jimmy’s set from the Domesticated Records Label Launch Party.
Tea With The Queen is being released on 29th May, and here is the single artwork, created by the amazing Rosie Draws Pictures.
As part of Jimmy’s work with Domesticated Records, we are proud to announce that Tea With The Queen will be released as a single on 29th May. This will coincide with Jimmy taking part in the Domesticated Records Label Launch Party at Urban Coffee in Fargo Village, Coventry. Tickets are £5 on the door and doors open at 7pm.
For the 2nd year in a row, Jimmy will be performing at Godiva Calling’s Singer Songwriter Event on Friday 6th May. This is the 3rd heat and two top acts go through to the final for the opportunity to play on the main stage at Godiva Festival 2016.
We are proud to announce that Jimmy has signed with Coventry-based record label Domesticated Records.
As part of this, Jimmy will be heading into the studio mid-April to record his second EP, the first track of which will be released at the end of May to coincide with the Domesticated Records Launch Party at Fargo Village on Sunday 29th May.
Stay tuned for studio photos and video snippets of the record session!

Jimmy is always looking for new places to play, so if you know a venue he should play at, then please do get in touch!
Good afternoon and welcome to the NEW Jimmy Eff Music website!
At Jimmy Eff HQ we got bored of pointing everyone to our bandcamp page and wanted something with a bit more of a personal touch, so here we are! The GRAND OPENING of http://www.jimmyeffmusic.co.uk, along with our new branding!
And we couldn’t have a music site without a music video, so here is Jimmy performing Round The Twist at Dancing About Architecture HQ!
